We wanted to make a Pikachu Piñata to bang to pieces to get the sweeties inside it. We re-purposed two papier mâché balloons for the body and head and attached paper rolls for the feet and cones for the ears.
Then we covered the paper rolls with newspaper strips…
…that had been dunked in flour, water and salt glue.
And added mâché padding in the right places.
As a final layer we covered Pikachu with yellow paper…
The last touches were added with more coloured paper.
A second idea was to make energy cards by drawing symbols on biscuits with sugar icing.
But instead of drawing the symbols with icing, the icing was used as a drawing surface for food markers.
